Dorothy Lyman's daytime career began in 1970, appearing on A World Apart as Julie Stark until 1971. From 1972-1973, Lyman portrayed Elly jo James on The Edge of Night. Lyman had a brief role as Sister Margaret on One Life to Live in 1974 until 1975. In 1975, Lyman joined Another World as Gwen Parrish Frame, a role she played until 1980. In 1981, Lyman began playing Opal on All My Children. Lyman played the role until 1986 and won two Daytime Emmy's for her work. In 1989, Lyman made a return guest appearance to Another World. Lyman also appeared on Generations, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives and As the World Turns. Lyman has continued acting but has also focused on producing and directing. Lyman directed numerous episodes of The Nanny throughout the 1990's. Lyman's produced and directed the 2010 documentary Janet's Class. Lyman appears in 2014's Bad Hurt.

Personal LifeEdit

Lyman was married to John Tillinger (1971-1983) and they had two children. Lyman was also married to Vincent Malle (1987-2001) and they had one child.
