Ellen Holly joined the cast of One Life to Live in October 1968 as Clara Grey. Holly would be a cast member of OLTL until December 1980 and made a return from April 1983 to December 1985. From 1991 to 1993, Holly made appearances on Guiding Light as Judge Collier. Holly's last onscreen acting credit was in 2002's 10,000 Black Men Named George. Holly wrote an autobiography called One Life: The Autobiography of an African American Actress where she wrote about her time on OLTL most notably how she and co-star Lillian Hayman where abruptly fired by Paul Rauch.
