Larry Bryggman's daytime career began in 1969 when he joined As the World Turns as John Dixon. Bryggman originally only supposed to be a minor character but he ended up staying for thirty-five years. Bryggman returned for the shows final episodes in 2010.

Bryggman has been married to Tracey Hanley since 1999. They have two children Ryan (b. 2000) and Riley Claire (b. 06/11/2003). Bryggman was previously married to Barbara Creed and had two children. Bryggman was also married to Jacqueline Schultz (1980-1989).
