Jason Cook's daytime career began in 1999 when he was cast as Shawn Brady on Days of our Lives. Cook stayed with DAYS until 2006 when he left to pursue other interests. In 2008, Cook returned to daytime played Matt Hunter on General Hospital a move that reunited with with his former DAYS co-star Kirsten Storms. In June 2012, Cook was written off GH. Cook is planning to devote his time to his directing projects. Cook returned to DAYS from October 2015 to December 2015.
