Jeanne Cooper's career in daytime started in 1970 when she was cast as Katherine Chancellor on The Young and the Restless. Cooper is Y&R longest running cast member. Cooper crossed Katherine over to The Bold and the Beautiful in 2000. Cooper appeared in two episode of Guiding Light during its final episodes in 2009. Cooper passed away on May 8, 2013 after battling an infection when she was 84 years old.

Cooper was married to Harry Bernsen (1954-1964). They share three children: Corbin (b. 09/07/1954), Collin (b. 03/30/1958) and Caren.
