Robert Gentry's daytime career began with an appearance in 1964 on The Doctors. From 1966-1969, Gentry portrayed Ed Bauer on Guiding Light. In 1970, Gentry played John Carr on A World Apart. After eight years away from daytime, Gentry returned in 1979 to play Philip Lyons on Another World. Gentry briefly appeared on One Life to Live. Gentry took on one of his more iconic roles in 1985 appearing as Ross Chandler on All My Children. Gentry left AMC in 1990 and went on to appear on Generations. Gentry's last appearance on daytime was in 1995 on Days of our Lives. Gentry's last acting credit was 2012's Tough Love the Movie. Gentry died on September 17, 2022 at age 81.
