Shemar Moore's career in daytime began in 1994 when he joined The Young and the Restless as Malcolm Winters. Moore played the role for eight years before leaving in 2002. Moore returned to Y&R in 2004 in order to wrap up Malcolm's story line in 2005. Moore starred on Criminal Minds as Derek Morgan from 2005 to 2016. Moore made a guest return appearance to Y&R in September 2014. Moore returned to Y&R in April 2019 for Neil's funeral and for the show's 50th in 2023.
