Louise Shaffer daytime career began in 1969 when she joined Where the Heart Is as Allison Hathaway. Shaffer briefly appeared on The Edge of Night from 1975-1976 before joining Ryan's Hope in 1977 as Rae Woodard. Shaffer was a cast member on Ryan's Hope until 1984. Shaffer went on to appear on Search for Tomorrow, All My Children and Guiding Light. In 1987, Shaffer began writing scripts for Ryan's Hope and went on to write for AMC and As the World Turns. Shaffer has no additional credits acting or writing since she left the writing staff of AMC in 2002.
