Frank Hursley's daytime career began in 1957 as a writer on Search for Tomorrow. On April 1, 1963, Hursley and his wife Doris Hursley created General Hospital. They also served as head writers during the show's early run. In 1969, Frank and Doris created Bright Promise for NBC which was cancelled in 1972. Frank and Doris retired from serial writing in 1973. Hursley died at age 86 on February 3, 1989.
Personal Life[]
Hursley was married to Madeline and they had one child Frank McColl Hurlsey Jr (b. 1925). Hursley was married to Doris Hursley from 1936 until her death in May 1984. They have at least one daughter, Bridget Dobson who were follow her parents into the daytime drama business.
