Gillian Spencer's daytime career covers both acting and writing on a number of shows. Spencer's first appearance was as Lyn Wilkins Warren on The Edge of Night from 1962-1963. Also in 1963, Spencer appeared on The Secret Storm as Leora Davies. From 1964-1967, Spencer played Robin Lang on Guiding Light. Spencer was the original Victoria Lord on One Life to Live leaving the show in 1969 and being replaced by actress Joanee Dorian for only one year and then being replaced by actress Erika Slezak for the show's long running years to come. In 1970, Spencer joined the cast of As the World Turns as Jennifer Sullivan and played the role until 1971 when she left the show. Spencer than turned to writing for As the World Turns. In 1980, Spencer returned to acting and joined the cast of All My Children as Daisy Cortlandt. Spencer both acted and wrote for the show from 1985-1989. In 1989, Spencer left the role of Daisy but continued writing for AMC until 1992. Spencer would go on to focus wore on her writing by joining the writing staff of several daytime shows from 1993 until 2010.
