James E. Reilly was a soap opera writer, producer and creator. Reilly became well known in the mid 1990's for his outlandish story lines on Days of our Lives including a devil possession and when he returned to DAYS in 2003, he proceeded to kill off half the cast in a serial killer story line though every death turned out to be fake. Reilly created Passions and was the head writer throughout the series entire run. Reilly also wrote for numerous other daytime dramas getting his start at Ryan's Hope. Reilly passed away on October 12, 2008 after undergoing cardiac surgery.
