James Reynolds' daytime career began in 1981 when he was cast as Abe Carver on Days of our Lives. In 1990, Reynolds left DAYS to appear on Generations which was cancelled the following year. Reynolds returned to DAYS and continued to play Abe until the show decided to write Abe off as part of their serial killer story line. In 2004, it was revealed that none of killer's victim's were really dead and Reynolds returned to the show.

Reynolds has been married to Lisa Layng since 12/21/1986. Reynolds was previously married to Laura Toffenetti and they share one child, Jed.
