Joan Copeland's daytime career began in 1959 as Mary Appleman on The Edge of Night. Copeland went on to join Love of Live playing twins Maggie and Kay from 1960 to 1963. Copeland appeared on As the World Turns as Greta Aldrin before joining Search for Tomorrow as Andrea Whiting. From 1978 to 1979, Copeland appeared on One Life to Live as Gwendolyn Lord Abbott. In 1995, Copeland returned to OLTL but playing a different character named Selma Hanen. Copeland has continued to act in episodes of Law & Order. Copeland is also an accomplished stage actress winning a drama desk award in 1981 for The American Clock.

Personal LifeEdit

Copeland was married to George J. Kupchik from 1943 until his death in 1989. They shared one child, Eric. Copeland is the younger sister of playwright, Arthur Miller.
