John James first appearance on daytime was in 1976 as Tom 'Junior' Bergman on Search for Tomorrow. James played the role for three years before departing and going on to appear on Dynasty and The Colby. James was paired with Emma Samms during his time on The Colbys. In 2003, James returned to daytime as Ric Decker on As the World Turns. James took over the role of Jeff Martin on All My Children from 2006 to 2007.
