Zimmer returned to OLTL again in 1983 but as Echo DiSavoy. Zimmer then left OLTL later that same year to join Guiding Light in her most iconic role of Reva Shayne. Zimmer left GL in 1990 and Reva was believed dead. While away from GL, Zimmer appeared on Santa Barbara from 1991-1993 and made TV guest appearances in primetime TV. Zimmer returned to GL in the middle of 1993 and stayed with the show for long until its cancellation began in 2009. In 2010, Zimmer made another guest return appearance to OLTL in 2010 as Echo.
