Mary Fickett's daytime career began in 1961 when she appeared on The Edge of Night as Sally Smith. That same year Fickett appeared on Young Doctor Malone as Miss Long. In 1967, Fickett returned to The Edge of Night but as a different character named Katherine Lovell. Fickett was an original cast member of All My Children portraying Ruth Martin until 1996 when Fickett left the show. Fickett would return to AMC in 1999 but left again in 2000. After leaving AMC, Fickett retired from acting and died on September 8, 2011 from complications from Alzheimer's disease.

Personal LifeEdit

Fickett was married to Allen Fristoe (1979-2008; his death); Jay Leonard Scheer; James Congdon and they had two children.
