Maura West's daytime career began in 1995 when she joined As the World Turns as Carly Tenney. West left ATWT after just over a year but returned in 1997 and stayed with the show until its cancellation in 2010. Just a few weeks after ATWT final episode, West joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Diane Jenkins but only played the role until August 2011 when the character was killed off.  West joined the cast of General Hospital as Ava Jerome in May 2012.

Personal Life

West has been married to Scott DeFreitas since 01/22/2000. They share four children: Joseph Peter (b. 03/29/2000), Katherine Marie (b. 01/09/2002), Basil John (b. 01/30/2007) and Birdie West (b. 06/16/2009). West was previously married to Jonathan Knight (1995-1999) and had one child Benjamin (b. 06/1996).
