Peggy McCay has had a long career in daytime, first joining in 1951 when she appeared as Vanessa Dale on Love of Life. In 1964, McCay joined The Young Marrieds where she stayed until the show was canceled in 1966. The following year, McCay joined General Hospital as Iris Fairchild and left the show after three years in 1970. During her thirteen year absence from Daytime, McCay kept herself busy appearing in number TV shows and movies. In 1983, McCay took on the role of Caroline Brady on Days of our Lives where she was a guest star. In 1985, McCay joined the show full time.
