Rena Sofer's career on daytime began in 1987 when she appeared on Another World as Joyce Abernathy. From 1988-1991, Sofer played Amelia McKenize Domeq on Loving. In 1993, Sofer joined General Hospital as Lois Cerullo, a role she played until 1996 but returned for two guest appearances in 1997. Since leaving GH, Sofer has continued acting appearing on Melrose Place, 24 and NCIS. Sofer joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in July 2013 as Quinn Fuller. Sofer returned to GH in October 2023.

Sofer has been married to Sanford Bookstaver since 05/18/2003 and they have one child: Avalon Leone (b. 08/05/2005). Sofer was previously married to Wally Kurth (1995-1997) and they had one child: Rosabel Rosalind (b. 09/17/1996).
