Rick Hearst daytime career started in 1989 when he joined Days of our Lives as Scott Banning. Hearst was written off DAYS in May 1990 and departed but two months later in July of that year, Hearst was replacing actor Carl T. Evans when he opted to leave the show and depart the role cast and debuted for him as Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light. Hearst left GL in 1996. After leaving GL, Hearst appeared in episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210, Pacific Blue and Charmed. In 2000, Hearst returned to daytime playing Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless. Hearst left Y&R in Fall 2000 and a few months later he joined The Bold and the Beautiful as Whip Jones. B&B wrote out Hearst after six months. Hearst joined General Hospital in November 2001 as Ric Lansing. In 2009, Hearst was dropped to recurring status with GH and B&B offered Hearst the opportunity to return to the show as Whip. Hearst was eventually dropped to recurring status with B&B and the character was written out in June 2010. Hearst returned to GH in February 2015 until he left GH in 2016.
Personal Life
Hearst has been married to Donna Smoot since 06/09/1990. They share two children, Cameron and Nicholas.
