Rosemary Prinz was one of the most notable actress of early daytime television. Prinz was an original cast member on As the World Turns playing Penny Hughes. Prinz left ATWT in 1968 due in large part to the stress she felt from ATWT creator Irna Phillips. Prinz returned to daytime television in 1970 to play Amy Tyler on All My Children. Prinz was also on the short lived soap How to Survive a Marriage in 1974 as Dr. Julie Franklin. Prinz made return appearances to ATWT beginning in 1985 and her last appearance as Penny came in December 2000. Prinz also appeared on Ryan's Hope from 1988 to 1989 as Sister Mary Joel.

Prinz has been married to Joseph Patti since 12/17/1967. Prinz was previously married to Michael Thoma (1951-1957).
