Ruth Warrick's daytime career began in 1954 when she joined Guiding Light as Janet Johnson until 1955 when she left the show. From 1956-1969, Warrick portrayed Edith Hughes in As the World Turns. In 1970, Warrick joined All My Children as an original cast member and she would play the role until her death in January 15, 2005 at age 89 from complications of an pneumonia.

Warrick was married to Erik Rolf (1938-1945) and they had two children: Karen Elizabeth (b.03/13/1941) and Jon (b. 09/1942) Warrick was also married to Carl Neubert (1950-1952; 1961-?); Robert McNamara (1953-1960) and they had one child: Timothy; Frank Freda (1972-1973); Jarvis Cushing (1975-?).
