Ted King's daytime career began in 1993 as Ron Nettles on Another World. In 1995, King joined Loving as Danny Roberts and continued with the move to The City. After The City's cancellation in 1997, King appeared on Charmed and made guest appearance on various prime time TV series. In 2002, King returned to daytime as Luis Alcazar on General Hospital. The character was killed off after only a few months but King would return to the show in June 2003 as Luis twin brother Lorenzo. King left GH in 2007 and appeared on Prison Break from 2008-2009. King returned again to daytime in 2011 as Tomas Delgado on One Life to Live a role he played until the series was cancelled in 2012. King has appeared in episodes of Elementary and Alpha House.

King has been married to Maya Rodwell since 09/14/2008. They have two children: Ava Celeste (b. 10/15/2010) and Vivienne Aurelia (b. 04/17/2013).
