Tichina Arnold first appeared on daytime in 1985 as Zena Brown on Ryan's Hope. After Ryan's Hope was cancelled she joined All My Children as Sharla Valentine, a role she played until 1992 when she left the show to pursue other opportunities to start her new tv show called Martin. Arnold has had a successful career outside of daytime appearing on Martin, Everybody Hates Chris, and Happily Divorced.

Arnold married Rico Hines on August 18, 2012. Arnold was previously married to Lamon Brewster (1992-1996). Arnold has one child: Alijah Kai (b. 03/26/2004) with Carvin Haggins.
